ABOUT YOUR COACH

Whitney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with adults in recovery, specializing in dual diagnosis, mental health, and substance abuse. She has served a varied and diverse population in the Greater Hartford and Middlesex counties in a range of capacities, as an in-home clinician, senior intensive outpatient clinician, and facilitating groups for co-morbidity diagnosis.

She is experienced in providing individual counseling, family sessions and recovery group facilitation, developing behavior plans, working with parents in Planned Placement Team Meetings (PPT), and advocating on behalf of clients with the Department of Children and Families.

Whitney holds a Master’s in Social Work from Springfield College, and a Bachelor of Psychology from University of Saint Joseph (formerly Saint Joseph College). She is experienced in using a diverse range of modalities and systems to support both men and women through the recovery journey, as well as working with children to promote healthy family cohesion. Among the approaches used in client engagement are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), narrative therapy as well as fostering a client-centered and ecological perspectives methodology.

Whitney is sincerely passionate about accompanying individuals and families on their path to recovery. She brings to her practice a combination of lived experience, in-depth academic study, and relevant career work, empowering her to engage clients from a place of compassion, focus, and advocacy. Her wholehearted belief is that every adversity serves as a means to sharpen you, refine you, and propel you forward in your purpose. Whitney will work to ensure that a relevant and individualized plan to address the barriers to recovery you may be facing is created, and to connect you with necessary community resources. She will come alongside you as you process through what may feel like your greatest mountain, brushing off the rubble from which you have emerged to reveal the overcomer within.

Let’s climb together.

- Whitney

HEAR FROM OTHERS

"There was an instantaneous connection when I started working with Whitney several months ago. I came to Whitney after 2 failed attempts at therapy, for my own resistance, and I wasn’t that confident in myself that I’d stick with it this time. Whitney has challenged me to shift my thought process and/or perspectives for more insight and awareness into myself. She’s allowed me to get off track and then pulls me back. She’s creative in her approach and flexible in her thinking. Most importantly she’s allowed me to be me, in all of my mess, I’m comfortable and I know she gets “it”. She has a warmth and genuine vibe that’s hard to come by. I’m on a journey and I know she’s with me."   - Anonymous
